Four Noble Truths (catvāri-ārya-satyāni)

The four irrefutable truths of Buddhism: dukkha, or suffering; samudaya, its cause; nirodha, its cessation; and mārga, the path to its cessation. The four dogmas are genuine, and can be understood and attained by those who are worthy.
