3.错杂的颜色或花样 multicoloured; multipatterned：～布 huābù cotton print; print/ 头发～白 tóufɑ huābái grey-haired/ ～边 huābiān decorative border; lace/ 那只猫是～的 Nà zhī māo shì huā de. The cat looks variegated. ［花哨 -shɑo］颜色鲜艳，花样多，变化多 bright-coloured; flowery：这块布真～～ Zhè kuài bù zhēn huāshɑo. This piece of cloth is flowery.
4.混杂的，不单纯的 interspersed; not pure：粗粮细粮～搭着吃 cūliáng xìliáng huādɑzhe chī diversify one's diet by eating both coarse and fine grain ［花甲 -jiǎ］天干地支配合用来纪年，从甲子起，六十年成一周，因称六十岁为花甲 the ten Heavenly Stems and the twelve Earthly Branched combined to designate years, from jiǎzǐ on to sixty years as a cycle. So the age of sixty is called huājiǎ (eg. a cycle of sixty years)
5.虚伪的、用来迷惑人的 hypocritical; tricky：耍～招 shuǎ huāzhāo play tricks/ ～言巧语 huāyán-qiǎoyǔ sweet-talkings; flattery
6.模糊不清 blurred; dim：～眼 huāyǎn presbyopia; be dazzled/ 眼～了 yǎn huā le The eyes are blurred.
7.用掉 spend; expend：～钱 huāqián spend money/ ～一年工夫 huā yī nián gōngfu spend one year ［花消 -xiɑo］费用，也作“花销” cost; expense. Also written as “花销”. |
