As told in the Buddhist story, Prince Siddhartha wanted to leave home to pursue his meditation, before he became a Buddha. In order to stop him from leaving, his father tempted him using five lusts – sound, color, smell, taste, and touch. Musical dance was one of the five-lust entertainments. |
