城堡或大院落转角处的建筑，莫高窟盛唐第217窟北壁“未生怨”中的城及中晚唐各窟维摩诘经变中的毗耶离城皆是此种建筑。

The building in the corners of a castle or a large compound. This type of towers are seen in the painting of Ajatashatru's story in the north wall of Cave 217 of the High Tang Dynasty, and are also seen in the city of Vaishali in Vimalakirti Sutra Paintings in various caves of the middle and late Tang Dynasty.
