Having attained enlightenment, Sakya one day wished to wash clean a tattered garment (a "pamsu-kula", or "robe of rags"), but a pool in which to wash the clothing was nowhere to be found. Indra, the guardian deity, turned the ground into a pool for Sakya to wash the robes. |
