It depicts the scene where Li Ling sees off Su Wu, the envoy of the Han Dynasty, returning to the homeland. Su Wu condemns Li Ling for betraying the Han court, and Li Ling tearfully recalls his forced surrender to the Xiongnu, a nomadic tribe in ancient China. It is written mainly in prose, ending with two five-character poems, one by Li Ling and the other by Su Wu. |
