定义

不朽指事物的永不磨灭（多指于抽象事物）。在中国属于道家哲学思想，不朽最早见于《左传·襄公二十四年》。据该书记载，春秋时，晋国的范宣子问穆叔：“古人说死而不朽，是什么意思？”穆叔在听取了范宣子的意见后说：“大上有立德，其次有立功，其次有立言，虽久不废，此之谓不朽。”即最伟大之处是德行上有建树，其次是功业上有成就，再次是言论上有创造，德行、功业、言论这三者，即使过了很久时间，也不会消失，这就叫不朽。明代的冯梦龙在《东周列国志》中提到“子鱼能为我代言，乞念先君一脉，愿留性命，长为匹夫死且不朽。”早期西方哲学中，灵魂不朽一直是哲学家们追求的问题。托马斯·阿奎那的灵魂说是宗教德行论的心理学基础，他认为，灵魂是不死的，在肉体解体以后，它仍然活动着。康德把灵魂不朽的观念放在十分重要的位置，即他的实践理性的“三大公设”（意志自由、灵魂不朽、上帝存在）之一（龚群等，2006：48-49）。
