定义

现实性，（1）广义上包括了围绕我们全部的物质世界，也包括可能性。它是指物质世界从过去到现在发展的全部结果，是现在已经存在的现实，包括了山川、河流、生物、动物以及人类社会生活的各种现象与事物等，客观的一切事物都包含其中。（2）狭义上是一种哲学用语，与“可能性”相对，用它来表示可能性发展的结果，表示可能性的合乎事物规律的存在，反映客观世界发展过程中本质联系的范畴之一。“事物的现实性是指已经实现了的可能性”（维久，1957：21）。现实性是客观事物和现象种种联系的综合，事物从具有倾向性到发展为已存在的现实应是符合具有内在根据的、合乎必然性的存在，其与必然性具有内在联系，在事物发展中只有表现为必然性的东西才具有现实性。“现实性”与“可能性”是辩证统一的，只有从可能性的发展中才能揭示出现实性的范畴。“一个事物在未出现时还不是现实的，但只要它合乎发展的客观必然性，就或早或迟一定会变成为现实”（百度百科）。同时，我们还应该看到，虽然一事物现时存在着，但是如果其丧失了继续存在的必然性，那么结果也是或早或迟一定会变成不现实。一切事物都是不断变化发展的，现实性的事物是过去的“现实”变化发展的结果，同时又会引起将来的“现实”。
