定义

独立自主，即不依靠他人，自己的事情自己做主。多指一个国家、民族或政党不受外来势力控制，自己处理事务，掌握自己的命运（陈奇峰，2014：7）。国家的主权是独立的，不允许任何外来的干涉与侵犯，每个国家都有权根据自己的实际情况独立地、自主地处理本国对内对外的一切事务。独立自主是中国共产党在抗日民族统一战线中正确处理国共关系的原则，是毛泽东哲学思想的重要内容和活的灵魂之一，它和实事求是、群众路线一起构成了毛泽东思想活的灵魂的三个基本方面，是具有中国共产党人特色的立场、观点和方法。毛泽东指出，“无论处于怎样复杂、惨苦的环境，军事指导者首先需要的是独立自主地组织和使用自己的力量”（毛泽东，1991：222）。“我们是主张自力更生的，我们希望有外援，但是我们不能依赖它，我们依靠自己的努力，依靠全体军民的创造力”（毛泽东，1991：1016）。独立自主原则的科学涵义：就是从本国实际出发，走自己的路，依靠本国人民的力量进行革命和建设。独立自主是中国共产党人领导中国革命和建设全部活动所得出的必然结论（独立自主.via：http://baike.baidu.com/item/%E7%8B%AC%E7%AB%8B%E8%87%AA%E4%B8%BB），是中国革命的基本经验和中国建设的基本方针，也是中国独立自主的和平外交战略的基本立场和战略基点（毕京京等，2015：355）。
