定义

爱情论（agapism）在美国皮尔斯的哲学中，指宇宙论中的一种理论。爱情论的观点认为“宇宙的进化过程是受爱的情感支配的过程，宇宙的进化力求达到一个确定的目的，即一个终极原因，它产生一种吸引力，对这种吸引的反应就是爱或受感动。这种吸引和受感动的关系是推动整个宇宙进化的精神规律”（冯契，徐孝通，2000：721）。
