李大钊著。原为1920年编著的《史学思想史》中《马克思主义的历史哲学与理恺尔的历史哲学》一节中的前半部分。简要介绍了马克思的唯物史观。认为经济构造（即经济关系）是社会的基础，法制、政治、宗教、艺术、哲学等是社会的上层。上层的变革，全靠经济基础的变动，“故历史非从经济关系上说明不可”，“单从上层上说明社会的变革即历史，而不顾基础”，就“不能真正理解历史”。指出马克思的唯物史观使历史学成为真正的科学，为“史学界开一新纪元”。收入《李大钊选集》。 （金炳华，2003:891）
