Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves

唐初称为“宁戎寺”，又叫“宁戎窟寺”，位于新疆吐鲁番市东北40公里的木头沟河谷西岸悬崖上，创建年代为公元499至640年的麴氏高昌时期，现存57个洞窟，基本保存完整。

They are grottoes built on the cliffs of the west Mutou valley northeast of Turpan in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, also called "the Ningrong Temple", or "the Ningrong Grotto Temple" in the early Tang Dynasty. They were constructed from 499 to 640 AD during the years of the Gaochang reign of the Qu Family. Today there are still 57 caves, and almost all of them are well-preserved.
