弥勒下生经【英】

Sutra on the Descent of Maitreya; Maitreyavyākaraṇa

定义

佛教经典。经中谓弥勒下生于翅头末城。父名儴怯，为转轮王，母名梵摩波提。弥勒坐龙华菩提树下成佛，利益世人，普度众生。

This sutra writes that Maitreya descended and was reborn in Ketumati (the city of wonders). His father was Saṅkha, a Cakravarti King, and his mother was Brahamāvāti. Maitreya sat underneath the nāgapuṣpa, the “Dragon Flower Bodhi Tree” and attained Buddhahood, bring goodness to people and saving all sentient beings.
