Fretwork

定义

也称为“云雷纹”，曾盛行于商代至战国时代的青铜器上。敦煌壁画中出现于中晚唐、宋至西夏时期的藻井图案中。

Fretwork is also called a “cloud and thunder pattern” and prevailed on bronze ware in the Shang Dynasty and the Warring States Period. In the Dunhuang murals, it appears in lantern deck ceiling patterns of the Middle and Late Tang Dynasty and from the Song to the Western Xia Dynasties.
