定义

原始社会道德，道德的历史类型之一，指在原始社会生产方式基础上形成的、与原始社会的经济文化相适应的道德观念和道德规范，是人类道德发展史上第一个历史类型。原始社会生产力低下、生产资料公有、集体劳动、平均分配、无阶级和国家等特征，决定了原始社会道德的特征：首先，“以维护氏族和部落的共同利益为重，把无条件服从和维护共同利益视为神圣义务”（金炳华，2003：646）。由于没有私有财产和私有观念，原始人把氏族和部落的共同利益看得高于一切，把维护共同利益作为最高义务和责任。其次，全体成员之间自由平等、共同劳动、团结互助，这是原始社会道德的重要特征。再次，在同自然界的斗争中，原始人在个人品性上形成了勇敢、刚毅、诚实等美德。最后，道德观念简单、贫乏、含混，道德调节具有狭隘性、简朴性，主要通过风俗、禁忌、传统和宗教仪式来进行。原始社会道德是人类历史上最早产生的道德类型，由于当时生产资料公有，没有剥削和压迫，形成了维护共同利益、热爱劳动、团结互助和平等民主的高尚美德和风尚，具有其有素朴、美好、高尚的一面。但同时由于原始社会生产力水平低下，人们刚刚脱离动物界，文明尚未发展，因此原始社会道德又有血缘群婚、氏族复仇和食人之风等消极的一面。所以，对原始社会道德，既不能简单地看成是粗野的、残暴的，也不能笼统地说成是理想的、无限美好的，应进行历史的具体的分析，兼顾其两面性，既看到其积极的一面，又看到其消极的一面。
