The Ten Offerings (pu^jana^)

华、香、璎珞、抹香、涂香、烧香、绘幢幡、衣服、伎乐、合掌。

In Buddhism, there are ten kinds of offerings. They are: flowers, necklaces, powdered incense, liquid incense, burning incense, silken parasols, banners and streamers, clothing, food and music. A person should be offered the finest alms that are affordable. Heavenly treasures should be scattered over them, and the treasures of heaven should be given to them as gifts. Wherever a monk may go, one should greet them with with palms joined together, with reverence, respect and admiration.
