健全理智的哲学就是洛克所提倡的健全人的感觉和以理智为依据的哲学（石兆棠，1980：85）。他间接地说明了，哲学要是不同于健全人的感觉和以这种感觉为依据的哲学，是不可能存在的。马克思是这样说的：“法国唯物主义有两个派别，一派别起源于笛卡尔，一派起源于洛克，后一派主要是法国有教养的分子，它直接导向社会主义”（马克思等，1972：160）。这是因为洛克提倡健全理智的哲学，一方面站在唯物主义的立场对于人类社会这个客观世界直接去接触，去认识它，另方面还用健全的理智去分析，去理解它。

1. Locke founded the philosophy of bon sens, of common sense; i. e., he said indirectly that there cannot be any philosophy at variance with the healthy human senses and reason based on them. Locke’s immediate pupil, Condillac, who translated him into French, at once applied Locke’s sensualism against seventeenth-century metaphysics. He proved that the French had rightly rejected this metaphysics as a mere botch work of fancy and theological prejudice. He published a refutation of the systems of Spinoza, Leibniz and Malebranche.
