定义

深入窟壁的小空间，容纳佛、菩萨等塑像的龛室。大致可分为阙形龛、圆拱龛、双层龛、敞口龛、盝顶帐形龛等。

It is smaller space cut in the walls of the grotto. Statues of Buddha or Bodhisattva are usually accommodated in niches, and niches can more or less be classified into such types as palace-shaped niche, arched niche, double-recessed niche, open niche, and tent-shaped niche with a truncated pyramid top.
