A seven-character song lyric from the Tang Dynasty, with its author unidentified. Originally titled “On Awakening” in The Collection of Mind, it expounds the methods to awaken to the truth of Buddhism, which was probably written by a highly literate monk because of its fluency in regulated sentence patterns.
