On Perfecting Buddha-Nature: To the Tune of Shi Er Shi

唐人曲词，作者不详，共十二首。皆三、七、七、七句式。词讲人人皆有佛性，但若要有所成就，还须究竟大乘之“空”义。

A group of 12 lyric poems from the Tang Dynasty, with the authors unidentified. All of them feature a “3-7-7-7” sentence pattern. As stated in these poems, every being is endowed with the Buddha-nature (buddhadhātu), but for perfecting Buddha-nature one needs to understand the profound meaning of śūnyatā (emptiness, voidness, or non-self) in Mahayana doctrine.
