Vaisravana Riding Across the Waters

英藏彩色绢画Ch.0018,五代绘制，出自莫高窟藏经洞,画面描绘北方毗沙门护法天王，正穿越大海，右手擎金戟，左手托一佛龛，吉祥天女在其一侧，另一侧为一白发老者。

Unearthed in the Library Cave (Cave 17) at Mogao, and now preserved in the British Museum, ink and colors on silk, Ch.0018. Completed during the Five Dynasties, the painting depicts Vaisravana, one of the Four Heavenly Kings and guardian king of the North, crossing the water with a golden halberd in his right hand and a stupa in his left hand. On one side of him is Lakshmi, on the other side a gray-haired elder.
