A statue (Northern Wei, AD 386-557) found on the western wall of the antechamber of Mogao Cave 437. Wearing a coronet on his head and a round-necked kasaya that covers both shoulders with U-shaped folds, this Bodhisattva is performing the Gesture of Fearlessness (Abhaya Mudra) with his right hand and the Gesture of Boon Granting (Varada Mudra) with his left hand.
