1.副词 adv. 1.表示同样、并行等意义 also; too; as well：你去，我～去 Nǐ qù, wǒ yě qù. If you go, I'll go too./ ～好，～不好 yě hǎo, yě bù hǎo It may be good or bad as well. 2.跟“再”“一点”“连”等连用表示语气的加强（多用在否定句里） used for emphasis (usu. used in negative sentences), with zài, yīdiǎnr, lián, etc.：再～不敢闹了 zài yě bù gǎn nào le dare not to make any trouble any longer/ 这话一点～不错 Zhè huà yīdiǎnr yě bùcuò. There is nothing wrong with the remark./ 连一个人影～没找到 lián yī ge rényǐng yě méi zhǎodào Not a single person was found there. 3.（跟前文的“虽然、即使”连用）表示转折或让步 used correlatively with suīrán, jíshǐ, expressing transition or concession：我虽然没仔细读过这本书，～略知内容梗概 Wǒ suīrán méi zǐxì dúguo zhè běn shū, yě lüèzhī nèiróng gěnggài. I've a sketchy idea about the outline of his book, though I haven't read it carefully./ 即使天下雨，我～要出门 Jíshǐ tiān xiàyǔ, wǒ yě yào chūmén. I shall go out, even if it rains.
