1.助词，在动词后 aux. used after a verb 1.表示动作正进行 indicating a continued action or state：走～ zǒuzhe be walking/ 等～ děngzhe be waiting/ 开～会呢 kāizhe huì ne ( They are) having a meeting 2.表示存在的方式 indicating a resultant state：桌上放～一本书 Zhuō shɑng fàngzhe yī běn shū. There is a book lying on the table./ 墙上挂～一幅画 Qiáng shɑng guàzhe yī fú huàr. On the wall hangs a picture.
2.表示程度深，常跟“呢”(ne)连用 (aux. as an intensive used with "ne") very, quite：好～呢 hǎo zhene awfully good/ 这小孩儿精～呢 Zhè xiǎoháir jīngzhe ne. The child is smart enough.
3.助词，用在动词或表示程度的形容词后表示祈使 aux. used after verbs or adjectives of degree to express imperative mood：你听～ Nǐ tīngzhe. You just listen./ 步子大～点儿 bùzi dàzhe diǎnr Take larger steps!
4.助词，加在某些动词后，使变成介词 aux. used after certain verbs as prep：顺～ shùnzhe along/ 照～ zhàozhe according to/ 沿～ yánzhe along/ 朝～ cháozhe in the direction of zhuó zháo zhāo |
