1.跟“远”相反 antonym of "yuǎn". 1.距离短 (of distance) near; close：路很～ lù hěn jìn It's very near. or It's a very short way./ 天津离北京很～ Tiānjīn lí Běi-jīng hěn jìn. Tianjin is very near to Beijing. 2.现在以前不久的时间 (of time) a short time before：～几天 jìn-jǐtiān the last few days/ ～来 jìnlái recently; of late
