Dú xíng bù kuì xíng; dú qǐn bù kuì shí.

獨行不愧形, 獨寢不愧食。

Lit Walking alone, [one is] unashamed of [one's] behavior; sleeping [i.e., living] alone, [one is] unashamed of [one's] lifestyle.

Fig A gentleman is always a gentleman regardless of whether others observe him or not.
