(med.) element in various informal official titles; e.g. 府君 fǔjūn, lord repositor, i.e. grand warden of a commandery ( juntaishou 郡太守); also, respectful term for a deceased; 明府 míngfǔ, enlightened repositor, i.e. district magistrate (xianling 縣令); 贊府 zànfǔ, assistant repositor, i.e. district adjuvant (xiancheng 縣丞); 少府 shǎofǔ, deputy repositor, i.e. district constable (xianwei 縣尉). 7. receptacles, set of inner organs of the human body, complementary to the 5 “viscera” (zang 臟); e.g. 六府 liùfǔ, the 6 receptacles, i.e. stomach (wei 胃), large and small intenstines (da/xiaochang 大/小腸), gall bladder (dan 膽), urinary bladder (pangguang 膀胱), and “triple burner” (sanjiao 三焦, variously identified).
