云鼓【英】

Cloud Drum

定义

鼓腔下大上小，圆形，木质，造型独特，上端蒙皮，用褪击之，佛教乐器之一。此鼓出现在壁画晚期，如榆林窟第14窟和第15窟各有一件云鼓，均由飞天乐伎持双槌演奏，云鼓身部绘制云彩纹样，予以装饰。

This Buddhist drum is round and made from wood. The top is covered with leather and its bottom is smaller than the top. This kind of drums appears in later frescoes, such as No.14 and No.15 Yulin Caves. The Apsaras musicians hold sticks in both hands to beat the cloud drums. The drum is painted with cloud patterns on its body.
