Also known as The Story of an Oppressed Daughter-in-law, it is a popular fu poem from the Tang Dynasty. It tells the story of a frank and outspoken newlywed who complains that she is oppressed by her parents-in-law, so she files a request for divorce. The story criticizes the ill-matched arranged marriages of the past and reveals the plight of women under feudal society.
