全称阿难陀，为释迦佛堂弟，佛陀十大弟子之一，以“多闻第一”著称。常与迦叶分立于佛陀之左右。

Originally a cousin of Śākyamuni, Ananda became one of his ten primary disciples. He is said to have had a perfect memory and thus is capable of recalling all of the Buddha's sermons. He is often depicted in statuary together with kasyapa, each standing to one side of the Buddha.
