Three poems are recorded in Дx.278, with the last eight characters missing from the third poem. Four poems are recorded in S.5540, with the first three the same to those in Дx.278, but there are many errors in the copies of the three poems; for example, the missing 11 characters and the lack of a title for the poems. The poems were probably written by monks on their pilgrimage for Buddhist scriptures from Chang’an (present-day Xi’An) to the West during the Tang Dynasty. |
