定义

道德素质，特指人在道德方面的内在基础，是人们的道德认识和道德行为水平的综合反映，包含一个人的道德修养和道德情操，体现着一个人的道德水平和道德风貌。道德素质所具有一下的特征：（1）内在性。道德素质是一个人道德心理活动与道德行为发展方向的准备状态，即道德心理活动的潜势，具有内在性。它的形成是个体通过自觉地锻炼、吸纳、修养等内化方式实现的。（2）相对稳定性和动态发展。道德素质一经养成就有它的稳定的惯性一面，因为它已溶化为道德主体自身的价值观念和价值目标，成为支配行为的意识；但是，人的价值观和意识在指导行为时又是复杂的，要受到社会条件、物质因素的制约，也受到行为发生时情境的影响。（3）整合性。由于道德素质是顺利地从事道德活动并进而培养道德品质、形成道德人格、升华道德境界的前提条件和基础，因此，道德素质还具有依据自身的道德认识素质、情感素质、意志素质来统一和调适自己多种行为动机的能力特征。道德素质是内化的结果，是内在之物，它一定要通过个人的对象性活动外显出来，因此，它具有对外和对内两种功能。作为对外功能，它是指道德素质对社会环境的适应和改造。作为对内功能主要包括行为动力功能、自我调控功能、价值定向功能等（雷绍业，2001：9-23）。
