定义

关于“道德决定论”，有两种涵义:其一是把道德及其律令看成是被先验地设定的，是由自然或上帝这种绝对原因，或者由先知先圣这些绝对权威所预先决定了的，人不能自行决定或选择道德体系和道德行为；其二是把道德作为人类社会发展的决定力量，认为人们的道德面貌决定着社会的面貌（李明华，1994：39）。中国近代最早系统阐述道德决定论的是梁启超。1902年他开始在自己主办《新民丛报》上连载“新民说”，宣扬道德决定论。在孙中山的思想中，道德决定论的倾向也很突出。孙中山用道德决定论解释历史现象，他说:“从前中国各代的国力虽然比不上元朝，但是国家的地位各代都能够长久，推究当中的原因，就是元朝的道德不及中国其余各代那样高。从前中国的民族道德因为比外国民族的道德高尚得多，所以在宋朝一次亡国到外来的蒙古人，后来蒙古人还是被中国人所同化;在明朝，二次亡国到外来的满洲人也是被中国人同化。因为我们民族的道德高尚，故国家虽亡，民族还能够存在。不但自己的民族能够存在，并且有力量能够同化外来的民族”（史广全，1996：23-24）。总体上看，道德在人类历史上不具有终极的、原动力的意义。道德决定论不符合几千年来人类社会发展的历史，违背了历史唯物主义的根本原理。
