资本主义工业化的过程，是在资本家追逐利润的过程中自发地实现的。资本主义工业化一般从发展轻工业开始。因为，轻工业资本周转较快，可以用较少的投资，获得较多的利润。轻工业发展起来以后为资本主义积累了大量资金，并产生对新的生产设备、机器、动力、工具等的需要，促进了重工业的迅速发展。资本主义工业化的开端是产业革命。经过产业革命， 资本主义在生产技术上发生了根本变革，原来的工场手工业为机器大工业所代替，社会生产力获得了空前的发展，使资本主义生产方式最终战胜了封建制生产方式。资本主义工业化的实现，使社会生产力产生了巨大的飞跃，在各个主要资本主义国家出现了许多工业中心和大城市。资本主义工业化的过程，决不仅仅是生产技术方面的变革，而且也是社会经济制度方面的变革。资本主义工业化的实现，为资本主义制度建立了强大的物质技术基础。与此同时，资本家加强了对本国工人和农民的残酷剥削和掠夺，资本主义列强也加强了对经济落后国家特别是对亚非拉的广大殖民地、半殖民地的经济剥削和掠夺，从而加剧了资本主义各种矛盾的发展。（资本主义工业化.via:
