Lantern deck Ceiling Pattern

定义

敦煌石窟覆斗形窟窟内顶部中央的装饰。方形。由井心、井外边饰、垂幔三部分组成。井心向上凸起，四边为斜坡面，上窄小，下宽大，构成覆斗形状。依井心纹样定名。如“莲花藻井”、“团花藻井”、“团龙藻井”。

It is the ornament of the central ceiling in inverted bucket-shaped caves of the Mogao grottoes in Dunhuang . The pattern is square and covers the center, outer trim and valance. The center bulges, and the four sides all slope. The ceiling has a narrow upper part and a wide lower part, which is shaped like an inverted bucket. It is named after the pattern in the center of the ceiling, such as, “lotus lantern deck ceiling”, “medallion lantern deck ceiling” and “Loong lantern deck ceiling”.
