梵语Yaksa的音译。据佛经说，它是一种伤人、吃人的恶鬼，但又是守护佛教的天龙八部之一。面目狰狞，身体丰硕，奇形怪状，粗犷有力，百态千姿，形象各异。

Image of Yecha: the Chinese name Yecha is the transliteration of Yaksha in Sanskrit. According to Buddhist scriptures, the Yaksha is a kind of ferocious ghost (bhuta) that haunts and devours people, but it is also one of the eight guardians of the Dharma (Tianlong Babu). Yakshas are often portrayed fearsome, stout, bold, and strong. They appear in grotesque shapes and different postures, so that one Yaksha does not look like another.
