定义

绝对价值就是指商品的绝对价值。商品的绝对价值就是指社会规定同种同质等量的商品，不管人们是用什么办法把它生产出来并运送到同一市场上，并在同一时间段内出售，其内含的价值量是相等的，因此只能以相同的价格来出售的社会现象。同时，商品的绝对价值也是指社会规定同种同质等量商品在同一时间段内，但是在不同的时间内段出售，其内含的价值量可能是不相等的。因此可能不得不以不同的价格出售的社会现象。可交换价值, 即是可以转换成商品的价值, 可以出售的价值。任何理论都不可能否认可交换价值在现代文明生活中的重要作用, 我们生活中的绝大部分所需用品, 都是通过价值交换来实现的。正是社会行为价值交换的普遍实现, 才使社会个体成员的创造活力被广泛激发出来, 成为推动社会的巨大动力。可交换价值是建立在资本权威基础之上的, 也即是建立在社会财富分配不平等的基础之上的, 可交换价值刺激社会个体成员在物质需求上形成竞争, 并导致社会物质财富的增长。（谢嘉幸，2004：35-47）
　“绝对价值”的术语，李嘉图只在他的《原理》第一版时使用过一次，在他的信件中偶尔也用过。在他生命最后几年中， 他于1823年就“绝对的和可交换的价值”写出一些论文，使这个概念得到澄清。这些文章在斯拉法编辑的《李嘉图著作和通信集》中首次发表。论文的重要性在于，它对李嘉图价值论和分配论提供了有力的解释。论文说明，商品相对价值的决定问题出于李嘉图的愿望，即把以实物数量进行的社会产品分配同市场经济中的工资、租金和利润率相联系。至于相同数量的劳动生产出的两件商品为什么不具有相同的交换价值，就李嘉图本意来说，他对这个问题并不感兴趣。他关心的是当社会产品的分配发生变化，交换价值也随之发生变化。这一事实使得其他清晰的想象变得混乱和模糊。正因为强调即便社会产品的数量及其生产方法不变，分配的变化也导致交换价值的转变这个事实，使得李嘉图在探求不变的价值标准时陷入智力的死胡同中。最后，李嘉图悟出结论：“实际上不存在完善的价值尺度”，不存在不变的价值标准。马克思对李嘉图一心探求不变价值标准提出了批评。他认为，李嘉图把精力集中于相对价值的转变模糊了这个事实，即商品进行交换并不同其劳动价值（凝结的劳动）成比例。然而，马克思力图恢复分配分析的明确性，首先提出决定利润率的是劳动数量的比率，然后把劳动价值“转换”成生产价格。而马克思遇到的困难同李嘉图感到的困惑相同，即生产条件的不同或商品的“资本有机构成”不同。（约翰·伊特韦尔，1996：4）
