It consists of 16 lines, admonishing people against killing animals and eating their flesh. In addition, another hand-copied poem recorded in S.6469 also exhorts people not to drink alcohol or eat meat. There is also A Chant on Admonishing People to Be Virtuous in Vol.76 of the Huang Collection in the National Library of China, which describes fully the harmful karma resulting from killing animals. |
