瑟【英】

Se (Zither)

定义

中国古代弹拨乐器。第290窟东壁飞天乐伎演奏的两件瑟配置在一起，西千佛洞第8窟(北周)也是飞天乐伎演奏的两件瑟排列在一起运用。虽然弦数不十分明显，但从其体大形长来看实属瑟无疑。唐代洞窟中也有瑟出现，但不很多，如第98窟的供养乐器中有瑟的运用。

A plucked instrument in ancient China. Two se played by flying apsaras are arranged together on the east wall of Mogao Cave 290, and in Cave 8 of the Western Thousand Buddha Caves (Northern Zhou, AD 557–581), two se played by flying apsaras are depicted together as well. Although the number of strings cannot be clearly determined, judging from the length of the instruments they appear to be se. Se can also be found, though not in large numbers, in caves built in the Tang Dynasty, of which Mogao Cave 98 is an example, where it is played by the supporting ensemble musicians.
