定义

一般规律与“特殊规律”相对，具体是指各个事物或不同领域中普遍起作用的、 共同具有的规律。所谓特殊规律，是指物质世界某个领域、范围或某个事物中起作用的规律，亦即是某事物所特有的规律。恩格斯曾认为，唯物辩证法就是归结为关于外部世界和人类思维的运动的一般规律的科学。因此，唯物辩证法揭示的对立统一规律、质量互变规律、否定之否定规律等，就是普遍存在于宇宙一切事物中的最一般规律。马克思主义哲学所研究的一般规律就是具有最大的普遍性、必然性和高度的抽象性的规律，它概括和反映了自然、社会和思维领域中最普遍的联系和最一般的关于运动和发展的规律。由于客观事物范围极其广大和发展的无限性，一般规律和特殊规律的区分是相对的，在一定场合为特殊规律，在另一场合可变为一般规律。因此，普遍规律与特殊规律互相联系、互相包含。一般规律通过特殊规律表现出来，并存在于特殊规律之中。通过分析认识具体的特殊规律，才能掌握一般规律。任何领域中的规律，不但包含了特殊性，也包含了一般性。“一般规律只包含同类事物的一般本质，它不能离开特殊规律而单独存在。因此，必须注意将一般规律同特殊规律相结合。”（金炳华，2003：244）
