Yumen County

定义

县名。在肃州西二百二十里，东汉罢玉门关屯戍，徙其人户于敦煌、酒泉间，置玉门县（在今玉门市西赤金堡附近），隶酒泉郡。

Yumen County: 220 li (141 km) west of Suzhou, Yumen County was established between Dunhuang and Jiuquan in the Western Han Dynasty and governed by Jiuquan Prefecture. At that time, the Yumen Pass, a former frontier defense post, was closed and residents there were relocated to Yumen County (currently nearby Chijinbao, west of Yumen City).
