定义

“抽象劳动”（abstract labour），也称“一般人类劳动”（刘佩弦，1988：432），与“具体劳动”相对，是撇开各种具体形态的一般的无差别的人类劳动，指人的脑力、体力在生产活动上的消耗（刘炳瑛，1988：458），这种消耗是人类劳动力在生理学意义上的耗费（刘佩弦，1988：432）。商品生产者是在一定的具体形态下进行商品生产的。如果将生产活动的特定性质、劳动的具体形态清除掉，生产活动就只剩下一点，即生产活动是人类劳动力的消耗。尽管缝制衣服的劳动与生产粮食的劳动是不同质的生产活动，但二者都是人的脑力和体力在生产活动上的耗费，即缝制衣服的劳动与生产粮食的劳动都是人类劳动。这种撇开了具体形态的抽象劳动，是指没有质的区别的一般人类劳动。在商品生产的条件下，抽象劳动是生产商品的劳动的一种属性，即生产商品的劳动二重性的一个方面，体现着人们在生产中相互交换劳动的社会关系（刘炳瑛，1988：458）。正是由于在商品生产上人类劳动的耗费和积累，商品的价值才得以形成，因而，抽象劳动形成价值，是商品的价值实体。不同的商品之所以能够按照一定的比例进行相互交换，是因为商品都凝结着人类的抽象劳动，都是具有价值的。因此，抽象劳动体现着商品生产者相互交换劳动的社会关系（刘佩弦，1988：432）。
