定义

密教又作真言宗、瑜伽宗、金刚顶宗、毗卢遮那宗、元宗、秘密乘。依真言陀罗尼之法门，修五相、三密等妙行，以期即身成佛之大乘宗派。

Esoteric Buddhism is also known as the True Word Sect 真言宗, the Yoga Sect 瑜伽宗, Adamantine Peak Sect 金刚顶宗, the Sect of Vairocana 毗卢遮那宗, the Sect of Revealing the Origin 开元宗, and the Secret Vehicle 秘密乘. Along with Theravada (Hinayana) and Mahayana, it is one of the three main branches of Buddhism, the goal of which is to become a Bodhisattva.
