Trumpet-like Drum

鼓腔呈喇叭形状，一头大、一头小，两面蒙皮，似腰鼓的变体，与甘肃永登、庄浪出土新石器时代的土鼓十分近似。仅在敦煌莫高窟第12窟(晚唐)经变乐队中有一件喇叭型鼓，十分奇特。该组6人乐队排列呈八字形，右侧3人演奏吹奏乐器排萧、笙和革菜，左侧3人演奏打击乐器拍板、喇叭型鼓、豢鼓与鸡娄鼓。喇叭型鼓最有特点。

The cavity of the drum is shaped like a trumpet with big top and small bottom. The two sides are covered with leather. This drum is derived from waist drums and similar to the Earth Drum of the Neolithic Age unearthed in Yongdeng and Zhuanglang of Gansu Province. It is only found in Cave No.12. There is a Trumpet-like Drum in the sutra band with special appearance. The six musicians in the band are in a splayed line with the right three musicians playing wind instruments of Xiao, Sheng and Gecai and the left three musicians playing percussion instruments of Clappers, Trumpet-like Drum, Huan Drum and Jilou Drum. The Trumpet-like Drum is most eye-catching in appearance.
