定义

洞窟形制之一，供僧人生活起居的洞窟。洞窟时代为北朝至元代。此类洞窟大小不一，多数为单室，平面呈方形或长方形。窟顶、四壁的制作较为精细。僧房窟附设禅窟，兼有生活起居和修禅的功能。

It is one shape of grottoes, built from the Northern Dynasties to the Yuan Dynasty for monks to live in. The size of this type of grottoes is varied but most of them have single chambers only, constructed in either a square or a rectangular place. The roofs and the walls of such grottoes are exquisitely made. There are also meditation grottoes attached to monk grottoes so that monks can live and practice Buddhist meditation there.
