Chang Shuhong

浙江杭州人，满族，擅油画。1943年2月到敦煌，筹建敦煌研究所，先后任该所所长，敦煌文物研究所所长，敦煌研究院名誉院长、研究员。对敦煌石窟保护和敦煌艺术的发扬多有贡献。

A native of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. He was a member of the Manchu nationality and was skilled at oil painting. He went to Dunhuang in February 1943 to help plan the establishment of the Dunhuang Research Institute. Positions he assumed included: Director of the Academy, Director of the Institute of Dunhuang Relics, and Honorary Director and Fellow of the Dunhuang Research Academy. He contributed much to the protection of the caves at Dunhuang and the promotion of Dunhuang art.
