Two paintings of a story about the Buddha's past life, currently preserved in Cave 275 of the Northern Liang Dynasty and Cave 302 of the Sui Dynasty. They both depict the scene where a king (the Buddha in his past life) is having his flesh cut out to light lamps as requested by Raudraksa.
