Arrow-Shooting Drums

定义

亦称“箭穿七鼓”，形似大鼓，排在鼓架上，由七个鼓按顺序排列，将鼓作为把子，用箭射之。箭射鼓仅见北周第290窟佛传故事中太子比试射艺中有一箭穿七鼓的图像。虽然以鼓作为比赛的把子，实际上鼓似大鼓形状排列在鼓架上，有一定的音乐性，箭射中把子可发出声音来，很有想象力。

It looks like seven big drums put neatly on drum stands. These drums are the targets for the shooting competition. If the competitors hit their targets the seven drums will give out musical sounds. So it is also called “arrow shooting across seven drums”. This scene only appears in Cave No.290 of the Northern Zhou Dynasty (557-581AD), and depicts the archery competition of the Prince.
