When Lu complained about his poverty, L? lent him a pillow to sleep on. At that time, the innkeeper was cooking a meal of millet. In his dream, Lu enjoyed a lifetime of power and wealth. He woke up to find the millet still being cooked (see A Dream of the Pillow by Shen Jiji of the Tang Dynasty). Hence the phrase, golden millet dream, referring to vanished dream or evanescence of life.}也说also黄粱美梦{huángliáng měimèng},一枕黄粱{yī zhěn huángliáng}。 |
