鸿门宴Hóngményàn公元前206年刘邦攻占秦都咸阳,派兵守函谷关。不久项羽率四十万大军攻入,进驻鸿门(今陕西临潼东),准备进攻刘邦。刘邦到鸿门跟项羽会见。酒宴中,项羽的谋士范增让项庄舞剑,想乘机杀死刘邦。刘邦在项伯、樊哙等人的护卫下乘隙脱逃(见于《史记·项羽本纪》)。后来用‘鸿门宴’指加害客人的宴会。{In 206 B.C., Liu Bang attacked and occupied Xianyang, capital of the Qin Dynasty, and had troops stationed at the Hangu Pass. Soon afterwards, his rival, Xiang Yu, led 400,000 troops to camp at Hongmen, east of today's Lintong in Shaanxi Province, where he made preparations for attacking Liu Bang. At Hongmen, Xiang Yu offered a feast for Liu Bang, at which Xiang Yu's adviser, Fan Zeng, asked Xiang Zhuang to perform a sword dance, and make an attempt on Liu's life. However, protected by Xiang Bo and Fan Kuai, Liu Bang escaped unscathed (Records of the Historian·Official Records of Xiang Yu). Hence the phrase ‘Hongmen Feast’ — a banquet contrived as a deadly trap.} |
